Are you attending college classes online? Do you find it to be so easy that it feels like you're just buying a degree? There are many people that believe that when you pay all that money for college, online or not, that you are just buying a piece of paper that says you achieved a bachelors degree. Here is what is really happening.
First, understand that getting a degree will open some doors, but they are not going to be great doors. You will still, most likely, be stepping into an entry level career and not right up to the top. Even teachers have to start at the bottom of the totem pole and work themselves up to the top. Getting a degree does not guarantee you a great salary to start.
Second, many people do not even use the degree they got with their job. There are many people that struggle to find a job in their field of study and end up working in another field. Could you imagine spending 4 years studying marketing to end up with a career in banking or something else. It seems a little silly, but it is the truth.
Third, you should always consider specialty schools because they are better known for placing graduates into the field of study. For example, if you go to school to be a mechanic, then you will not find yourself working in an office selling something because they trained you to be a mechanic and probably have a very good placement program set up to help you get a job when you graduate.
